Dungeon Crawler Carl is my favourite fiction of 2026, I know it came out around 2020 but I was busy then. What is it? A ten volume (eight are out now) series about a man and a cat trying to survive on a post apocalyptic interstellar reality TV show. Why do I love it? Heart. It is a story with a great heart and love of humanity, even when we are at our stupidest, maybe especially then. It is extremely violent and offensive by design.
